Volunteer Opportunities
Bright Horizons is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help support our program. In fact, without our dedicated volunteers, the organization would not be able to provide many of the services that it does.
No Horse Experience Required
Prior knowledge of horses is not required. Training is provided to all volunteers on both an initial and on-going basis by well-qualified Bright Horizons staff members. Additionally, all new-to-the-program volunteers are paired with experienced volunteers until their level of comfort with the program (to include the horses, the riders, and lesson conduct) increases.
Arena-related Opportunities
No matter if you have an affinity for working with horses, or riders, or both, we have numerous arena and general barn-related tasks with which we need assistance. Some examples: general horse care, pre-class set-up, arena maintenance, assisting riders with their tack, assisting riders during class, stall cleaning, etc.
Non-arena-related Opportunities
As Bright Horizons continues to grow, we have an increasing need for volunteers able to perform basic office-related tasks. For example: filing, document management, typing, mailing, media kit assembly, etc.
Professional Services
Bright Horizons has need for a variety of professional services: accounting assistance (book keeping in particular), health care professionals (we are in the process of establishing a healthcare advisory board), legal assistance (trademarks and copyrights), website development and maintenance, etc.
Interested in Volunteering
Bright Horizons conducts volunteer orientation and training classes on an on-going basis. We also invite anyone interested in learning more about the organization to arrange a visit to our riding center.
Next Steps
Volunteer applicants are required to complete a volunteer application packet (which includes authorization for background checks) and attend a formal volunteer training class prior to working with any of our riders.
