Without Volunteers
Our program wouldn't be possible without the generosity and investment of time, effort, and energy provided by our volunteers. From the folks that put in the occasional visit to the folks that are counted on as "regulars", Bright Horizons is appreciative of the efforts expended by one and all.
Background and Experience
Our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Some have horse experience, some do not. Some have worked with special needs individuals in the past, others have not. No matter, they all have one thing in common, an interest in broadening the horizons of all the riders that we serve.
Volunteer Activities
In addition to supporting activities involving our riders and horses, volunteers also lend administrative and other types of assistance to the organization. For example: office support, fund raising, outreach programs, etc.
Volunteer Staff Positions
Bright Horizons full-time staff positions are supplemented by a number of part-time volunteer positions. These currently include a Volunteer Coordinator and a Media Person. As our program grows and expands we anticipate that additional volunteer positions will be added.
Future Volunteers
Interested in Volunteering
Bright Horizons conducts volunteer orientation and training classes on an on-going basis. We also invite anyone interested in learning more about the organization to arrange a visit to our riding center.
Next Steps
Volunteer applicants are required to complete a volunteer application packet (which includes authorization for background checks) and attend a formal volunteer training class prior to working with any of our riders.
