Horses
Our Herd
Each Bright Horizons horse has been carefully evaluated prior to being selected to join our program. In 2011 our herd increased to 6 horses (plus one in-training) and we expect to have 7 horses in 2012.
What Makes a Good Therapy Horse
A combination of horse expertise, familiarity with the unique demands of the equine therapy environment, and the standards set forth by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) help determine which horses will make for good therapy horses. Bright Horizons also evaluates the individual gait, physique and size of each potential program horse so as to be able to provide a variety of riders with a variety of different riding experiences.
If you're Interested in Donating a Horse
Bright Horizons is always interested in identifying great horses that might be a great fit for our program. To learn more about our current, and anticipated needs, please contact us.
